The administration costs of running vessels are high and to keep them low they require a very efficient communication. The constant availability of spare parts, security equipment, consumption goods etc. can only be guaranteed with a fast and uncomplicated handling of mail orders. CODie ISMAN provides a module called “ShipShop” which offers solutions for this area. The assignment of ShipShop is the automatic handling and monitoring of mail orders, starting with creating of an order list aboard a vessel by the user ‘til to monitoring the invoice and delivery of goods by the purchase department of the shipping company. ![]() In this picture you can see the data exchange between the vessel and its shipping line. Usually the communication is done via email attachments which special software applications like email clients handle. Thus the user does not need to monitor this act. 1) Order-Mail (vessel --> company) Attached to this email is the mail order which a vessel transmits to its company. 2) Accept-Mail (company --> vessel) With this message the company informs the vessel about expected goods of the transmitted mail order. Usually the items are coming from the Order-Mail, but it is also possible that the shipping line created or changed the mail order. 3) Delivery-Mail (vessel --> Company) >>> More: Mail order <<< Back |
